Shopping New York City In Person
Are You fortunate or foolish enough to go shopping New York City in person?
I have taken it upon myself to put together a website about New York City Shopping. The point of view is from a Native New York City Taxi Driver, who is emotionally constipated, ie. who doesn’t give a sh*t about shopping. However, feels very strongly it is his civic duty to offer some indigenous local NYC taxidriver wisdom the subject.
Maybe you can find better advice elsewhere . . .
Then again just asking the locals is always a smooth move and can save you lots of potential aggravation.
For travelers and visitors New York City shopping has always been a long, noble and historic tradition. It begins when the Dutch West India Company creating a trading post on the Southern tip of Manhattan. In 1626, Director General Peter Minuit arrived in New Amsterdam, charged by the Dutch West India Company with the task of administering the struggling colony. Minuit "purchased" Manhattan Island from Native American Indians for the now legendary price of 60 guilders. The historic record is not clear which gift ideas were deemed appropriate by Mr. Minuit but it is reasonable to assume snow globes, I Love NY t-shirts, New York Yankees apparel, NYPD, FDNY or DKNY merchandise was not part of the deal.
If you've come to this web page, dollars to doughnuts you are sitting in front of a computer screen, at home, maybe in pajamas, fruit-of-the-looms or Victoria's Secret lingerie. Perhaps your at the office looking for the perfect NYC gifts for an anniversary, birthday, business function, family member, holiday gathering or just need to impress upon a certain Mr. Big, Ms. Bigger, Mrs. Biggest in your life creativity and thoughtfulness. Which will help you score your way into that significant others check book, head, heart, pants, purse, pocket book, slacks or wallet. Show them what an altruistic, kind, loving, thoughtful human being you are, even if you have selfish ulterior motives.
New York City Souvenirs (Food)
New York City Souvenirs as Food, let me explain.
Do you have or know a friend, neighbor, loved one, client or prospect who grew up in New York City?
Are you looking to endear yourself to that individual, in no uncertain terms and bring a smile to their face?
Many Ex-New Yorkers are now living in exotic geographical locations scattered throughout the United States and world, where there is plenty of free parking, better schools, lower costs of living, cheaper housing, cleaner air, better economic opportunities, more outdoor recreation, other sports franchises to hate, sunnier climate and less good old fashioned New York Attitude. They will inevitably complain and kvetch to anyone paying attention about a dismal lack of their favorite New York comfort food. Don't believe me? Try this experiment. Ask your favorite Ex-NY'er when was the last time they had a decent bagel, bialy, slice of cheese cake, piece of lox (smoked salmon), pastrami sandwich or pickle? Now this is the best part. Notice carefully how they access the innermost core of their being and watch there face as they wax nostalgic with memories. Go ahead do this now or tomorrow at the office.
Here's the secret.
The most direct path to their hearts are these NYC gifts and gift ideas that go through their stomach!
